GRIFFITH UNIVERSITY Future Tourism Leaders Program
Empowering Women in Sustainable Tourism Through Learning and Leadership
A research-informed learning program featuring three structured modules, knowledge assessments, and a certificate of completion.
Developed by Griffith University and Griffith Asia Institute, with support from the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), in collaboration with Women in Tourism Indonesia.
From ikat weavers to coastal guardians, women carry the knowledge that keeps culture and ecosystems alive. We work alongside indigenous communities — like the weavers of Sabu Raijua — turning rituals of resilience into living climate solutions, and blue-economy initiatives in Maratua & Wakatobi that grow local welfare.
